"Who goes there?" - The Town Guards

Guards at the Gates is a diceless two-player role playing game where you and your partner play as the guardians of a great tomb, and endless tower, or some such fantastical place. Heroes are always bothering you to enter, but you can't just let them through! Of course, they must perform heroic feats of great might and wit in order to prove themselves worthy of passing on. But the more you ask of them, the more impatient they get, and the sharper that sword at their side looks...

Interesting and fun! Wondering what Yasmin of the Wood is referencing. Also pretty sure Zenia is just Xena, and that Lilith the Nighthawk is some kind of Dragon Age reference, but I'm not sure and would like confirmation. Also, is Derrow of the Mountain a DERO reference?

Good eye! I made up Yasmin, Lilith, and Derrow myself, but Zenia is absolutely right!

The game's mechanics seem to imply that heroes' stats ought to have numeric ratings, but there doesn't seem to be any mechanism for determining what those ratings are. Based on how it's laid out, I suspect a paragraph might have run off the end of a column somewhere.

Given that each hero lists its stats in a specific order, I'd imagine it's the same 10/13/15 as the guards' stats, but with the order of the traits determining the numbers

Thanks for the feedback and for downloading my game! The heroes' stats are meant to be based on your stats, but divided by two and rounded down. So where you might have 15/13/10 or more, they have 7/6/5 in the order next to their name. I'm still working on my layout skills, so I'll make sure to redo that in a GatG 2.0.
